Six reasons that affect the inaccurate measurement accuracy of ultrasonic flaw detectors

Ultrasonic flaw detector is a precision instrument for testing the quality of equipment. Its accuracy is very important. However, in the process of measurement, the measurement accuracy of ultrasonic flaw detector is often inaccurate due to certain factors, which will cause great damage. Therefore, it is important to understand the reasons that affect the measurement accuracy of ultrasonic flaw detectors.
1. The electrical conductivity of the base metal has an influence on the measurement, which is related to the composition of the base metal material and the heat treatment method.
2. The surface roughness of the base metal and the covering layer affects the accuracy of the measurement, and the increase of the roughness increases the influence.
3. Any instrument requires the base metal to have a critical thickness. Only when the thickness is greater than this, the measurement will not be affected by the thickness of the base metal.
4. The flaw detector has an edge effect on the pattern determination, that is, the measurement near the edge of the pattern or the inner corner is unreliable.
5. The curvature of the sample has an influence on the measurement, and this influence will obviously increase with the decrease of the radius of curvature.
6. When the thickness of the covering layer is greater than 25μm, the error is approximately proportional to the thickness of the covering layer.
The above six points are the six reasons that affect the inaccurate measurement accuracy of the ultrasonic flaw detector. I hope it can help everyone.
